DISNEY CRUISE LINE | FAQ
How does booking actually work?
SHARE YOUR DETAILS | First, simply share the details of your travel party — the number of adults, kids, etc. — and the time of year you’re thinking of sailing. If you’ve already got a specific sail date in mind, great! But if you’re open minded on exactly when you’ll sail, or want guidance based on what’s available (and what’s more affordable), we’ll gladly point the way to the good stuff.
Tell us about your travel party ▸
PHONE CALL | After you submit your inquiry, we’ll schedule a quick phone call so you can share a bit more about your travel party, any celebrations or considerations that you’d like us to keep in mind.
PERSONALIZED PRICE QUOTES | Wishful Thinking will share pricing based on current availability. Our prices are always exactly the same as what you’ll see online — there are no upcharges, no special discounts — but we’ll provide context about the availability we’re seeing so you’ll know what to really expect.
BOOKING | When you’ve selected the best stateroom for your sailing, Disney collects the names, dates of birth, and citizenship home country for each sailor. After paying your deposit, you’ll receive your confirmation from Disney, which you can immediately link to the DCL Navigator app.

How do Disney Cruise Line deposits work? When is the balance due?
DEPOSIT | To confirm your sailing, Disney collects a deposit that’s 20% of the voyage fare. You can pay with any major credit card (American Express, Master Card, Discover, or Visa), a Disney Gift Card, or a Disney Chase Visa Redemption Card.
BALANCE | For most sailings, The date that your final payment is due depends on the length of your cruise. For a cruise of 5 nights or less, your final payment is due 90 days in advance of your embarkation day. For cruises 6 nights or longer, the final payment is due 120 in advance. This applies to eligible bookings, is different for suites and concierge-level rooms, and is subject to change.
When an agent sets up your booking, it’s our job to process all payments. You’re free to make any partial payments along the way at any schedule of your choosing; no payments are automatically charged.
Do the Disney Cruise Line ships offer connecting rooms?
CONNECTING ROOMS | Yes, when we book your cruise we select the actual stateroom you’ll be in, and we can book connecting rooms at the time of your booking. For this type of booking, it’s always very smart to book as early as possible so we can find two side-by-side available staterooms on the deck & ship area that you prefer.

For a Disney Destiny sailing, at what airport should I arrive & depart?
AIRPORTS | Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) is the closest airport, but Miami (MIA), is only about a 40 minute drive. we can easily set you up with an airport transfer to / from the airport. You can also enjoy the lovely new Brightline train. Wishful Thinking does not book airfare, but when you set up your booking, we’ll share important planning guidance to make sure your flights are well-timed with your embarkation and disembarkation days.
Does Wishful Thinking book hotel stays or Walt Disney World visits before or after the cruise?
PRE & POST HOTEL STAYS | After setting up your cruise, we’ll be happy to discuss / quote / book hotel stays in Miami, South Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, or other Florida destinations. We’ve got recommendations at many price points from luxurious beach resorts to simple, comfortable accommodations. We’re Florida experts (and I’ve been traveling all through Florida for decades). Disney Cruise Line itself has partner hotels in Ft. Lauderdale with convenient transport directly to / from the port. If you’d like a visit to Walt Disney World, we can help set up any Disney resort hotel stay, too.

What are the best staterooms on the Disney Destiny?
Rather than think about one stateroom that’s the best, it’s better to think about which one is the best fit for your particular travel party and budget. Some folks are light sleepers and need a stateroom that’s extra quiet; others are looking for the kind of spaciousness that gives the kiddos some room to bounce around. Some staterooms have extra spectacular views after you arrive at Disney’s private island in the Bahamas — just gorgeous to see at sunset and sunrise!
This is why why it’s smart to work with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner travel agent for Disney Cruise Line. We’ll discuss your specific group and identify the staterooms where you’ll be most comfortable. Get in touch now and we’ll find the best options for you — it’s always smart to book as early as possible to get the best pricing and availability.
